Beltangady: Sarva Dharma Sammelan at Dharmasthala on Nov 15

Beltangady, Nov 7: As part of the 'Laksha Deepotsava' of Lord Manjunatheshwara of Dharmastala,  a 'Sarva Dharma Sammelan (All-reglions Meet)' and ‘Sahitya Sammelan( literary meet)’ will be conducted here during this month. The Sarva Dharma Samelan will be conducted on Sunday November 15, while the Sahitya Sammelan will be held the next day.

The Sarva Dharma Sammelan will be inaugurated by Sri Veereshananda Saraswati of Ramakrishna Vivekanandashrama, while Siddheshwara Swamiji of Bijapur Sri Jnanayogashrama will preside. The Sammelan will be addressed by Prof Jeevandhar Kumar Hotapete from Mysore, Dr B Ismail from Mangalore and Ronald Colaco, Bangalore. S Saumya from Chennai will present a programme of classical music on the occasion.

The Sahitya Sammelan will be inaugurated by energy minister, K S Eshwarappa. Kannada Sahitya Parishat president, Dr Nallur Prasad, will preside. Dr C R Chandrashekhar, Dr Abhaykumar and Dr Vishnu Nayak will present their lectures. A Bharatatyam performance by Lakshmi Gopalaswami from Bangalore is also scheduled on that date.

Lacs of devotees are expected to arrive at Dharmastala to participate in the Laksha Deepotsava of Lord Manjunatha Swami being held here annually. A state level exhibition is being held at the high school premises of Dharmasthala. Cultural programmes will be held daily from November 12 to 16 as part of the Laksha Deepotsava.

    'Sarva Dharma Sammelan (All Religions Meet)' is an excellent and commendable move for the unity of all religions. Please advise the importance of all the religions to these Bajarangis and theier followers who post nasty comments on this forum.
