29-year-old COVID-19 patient kills self in Mumbai

Mumbai, Apr 15: Earlier on Wednesday, a 29-year-old female committed suicide by hanging herself in BYL Nair Hospital's bathroom. The woman was getting treated for COVID-19, her death makes it the city's first suicide of a patient who tested positive.

The incident came in light at around 3.45 am on Wednesday. The hospital staff broke the bathroom door after they realised the woman was not responding. She was found hanging to the ceiling with her dupatta.

A case of accidental death has been registered and witness statements were recorded.
