Woman gang-raped in R'sthan school during night halt amid lockdown

Jaipur, Apr 26 (IANS): A 40-year-old woman walking on foot from Sawai Madhopur to Jaipur during the nationwide lockdown was allegedly gang-raped by three men in a school where she had decided to spend the night, police said on Sunday.

The woman said in her police complaint that she decided to walk down to her Jaipur home after she was stuck in Sawai Madhopur for about a month, police told IANS.

On Thursday evening, she decided to halt at the school en route as it was getting dark and she was tired.

The three suspects are residents of a nearby village, police said.

DSP Parth Sarma said: "A case was registered against the three after the woman lodged a complaint on Friday. Accused Rishikesh Meena, Lakhan Regar, and Kamal Kharwal were arrested and presented in a court."

The three accused have since been sent in judicial custody.

    Don't send them to the judicial custody. Put them along with the Corona positive patients and don't give them any treatment until they die.

    In 2013, during the Delhi Assembly elections, Modi said that 'when you go to vote, do not forget Nirbhaya.' Why then is he silent? Why is the Nirbhaya fund not used?

    People have lost count of horrific Nirbhaya-like incidents being reported from several parts of the country. It took more than 10 years to get the death penalty for the gruesome rape and murder of Nirbhaya rapist.
    Women reported almost 34,000 rapes in 2018, barely changed from the year before. Just over 85 per cent led to charges, and 27 per cent to convictions, according to the annual crime report released by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The NCRB data of 2018 shows 1 rape reported every 15 minutes in India.
    Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao become worrying factor for many parents of India. Only change since 2012 rape Modi has gone mute.
