Mangalore: Two of City Students among 31 for State Regional Maths Olympiad

Mangalore, Dec 28: B Gautam Rao and Arvind N from Manipal Career Excellence have been selected from the state in the XI standard or pre-university category in Karnataka Regional Mathematics Olympiad 2009.

A total of 1,500 students from the state appeared for KRMO 2009. Among them only 31 students including Gautam and Arvind have been selected. B Gautam Rao is studying in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Panambur and Arvind N is a student of Lourdes Central School Bejai. Both of them are undergoing training for IIT-JEE/AIEEE at Manipal Career Excellence, Kuntikan, unit of Jnana Vijaya Trust here.

Mathematics Olympiad programme will lead the selected participate in the International Mathematics Olympiad organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) on behalf of the National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
