Panaji / Bangalore , Dec 31 ( DHNS): A 23-year-old girl died in a private hospital in Panaji on Wednesday of a drug overdose. 

North Goa SP Bosco George said the Bangalore girl Neha was admitted late on Tuesday after she collapsed at the three-day Sunburn beach festival in Candolim, North Goa.

She is suspected to have taken an overdose of MDMA which goes by the street name Ecstasy. George said preliminary reports suggested the young girl had died of a drug overdose, and a post-mortem had been ordered in the case.

Thousands of young people converged on Candolim beach for the Sunburn fest which wound up on Tuesday. The music festival drew DJs from around the world like Armin Von Buuren, Roger Sanchez and Sander Van Doorn. The beach party also had its share of celebrity film stars, cricketers and models chilling out.

Meanwhile, a local man was arrested by the Anti Narcotics Bureau early on Wednesday with Rs 70,000 worth of Ecstasy in Calangute, the police said.
