Mangalore : Hindutva Activists Disrupt College Day Function

MANGALORE, Jan 6 (The Hindu) : A group of about six Hindutva activists, claiming to be from the Bajrang Dal, allegedly barged into Kurnad Government Pre-University College here on Monday evening and disrupted the Talents Day function.

Vasudev Kamath, Principal of the college, told The Hindu that the activists had a problem with “Hindu girls dancing on stage in front of Muslim boys in the audience. Some of these intruders were under the influence of alcohol.After about 30 minutes, they relented on the condition that no Muslim boy in the audience should clap while the girls danced.”

Kamath said the intruders disconnected power cables and plunged the programme into darkness.He said that he had filed a complaint at the Konaje police station the same evening. Superintendent of Police A.S. Rao said that the local police were taking action against the accused.

    It would have been a great help to India If people from Briton / Europe had converted the at least 50% of the Indian Population before they quit India. Now only we Indians have to pay for their this big mistake irrespective of cast and creed.

    Ridiculus it may seem, but these guys have a hidden agenda to keep alive the Hindutva flame within hearts. BJP has over and over again failed to deliver within the hindutva agenda with which they came to power and people have noticed it.

    Further, karnataka is experiencing one of the most corrupt and bankrupt administration. These kind of protests are necessary to deviate peoples attention from core issues. Polite policing, confirms they are paid to do that job.

    This is the height of the stupidity, to show their talent audiences can be of any religion and what religion has to do with talent seems like Hindu fringe groups have taken inspiration from Mullah Omar Muhammad and his associates to make Mangalore as Indian version of Talibinization.     Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Ameer KhanSaif Ali Khan, Fardeen Khan, Afthab Khan, etc etc etc ……. are always dancing with hindu girls in the Screen and also in stages since long time. Cricket Star Irfan Pathan is already engaged with a rich hindu girl!!. Why the So called Hindu activists will not stop them?

    I would suggest not to name them as 'Hindutva Activists'. By their senseless activities they bring only disgrace to Hinduism. According to the Principal these youths were under the influence of Alcohol. It is very unfortunate that some educated people also support them & write in this forum admiring their activities. Can anyone give a simple example by these stupid activities how they protect Hinduism or Hindu brothers and sisters ? Do they dare to ban Aishwarya Ria's, Shilpa Shetty's movies in Mangalore.....Sorry to say, but, very disgusting & disgraceful group - BD. Shame !!! shame !!

    There is a saying "if you can't fight them, then join them". Time has almost come to that. It is for people to comment/act on this kind of act by Hindutva fellows. So far some have fought, and many have supported this idealogy. Now role reversal, those who have fought can side the BD, and those who have sided, can fight. Any social movement has to be based on justice, equality and development. Hindutva is the only movement which has it's foundation on differentiation, injustice and primitive values. It is for us to support this movement or not.

    I am against this kind of policing my the goons, but the statement of Lydia Lobo wherein she says that women in UP/Bihar are forced to cover their heads is uncalled for. Who are forcing them? I have never heard of anyone forcing them to cover their heads. In the same breath why is she not mentioning about covering women in burkha from head to toe ? This is called a classical case of double standards. Be impartial when u comment lady.

    This is Bajrang Dal to you: they can only attack soft target, be it the girls in the pub or some brother/sister walking or this, they dont have the guts to even raise a voice against the bollywood, these are chickens and the police is just have a blind eye, these you so call them jobless, are hired by some rich people with vested intrest, it is a very cheap tactics, it will destroy the educational system as a whole, watch out guys there are lot of your people in the gulf who are earning their daily bread/butter and well settled who are feeling ashamed of your activites, stop them, now before you are helpless

    Why cant these goons, go to Mumbai red light area where thousands of poor hindu girls are in the flesh trade by force de majure. Please save them. Please question the hindu boys and their parents who demand hafty dowry. Please question those hindu boys who burn their bride for dowry. They dont have guts. Whats evident here is to malign and hate one paricular community in the name of pretext of saviours of hinduism. Disgrace to these fanatics. These goons themselves shallo one day rape their own sisters/mothers under the influence of alcohol.

    Well, its upto our Hindu girls to decide if they want to be protected by these goons. One day you come out with your sickles & brooms to teach them a lesson your so-called bodyguards will be nowhere to be seen. Isn't Shilpa Shetty a member of Mangalorean Hindu girls ? Do you all think what does on stage is disgrace to the community ? Common girls - You cannot restrict your talent - audience can be of any religion. Common girls - one day these men will force you to cover your heads like women in UP/Bihar are forced to.
