Mangalore: Guru Singh Sabha Celebrates Birthday of Guru Govind Singh

Mangalore, Jan 6: The Sikh community in the city celebrated ‘Parkash Ustav’ to mark the birthday of Guru Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh on Tuesday January 5. 

It was organized by the Guru Singh Sabha in Mannagudda. 

The community members participated in the day-long programme where the ‘Keertana’ and ‘Katha’ of the holy book Guru Granth Sahib were held. Ragi Mata Bibi Amarjith Kaur from Nawanshahr in Punjab participated in this programme.

Bhai Sham Singhji, Bhai Charan Singhji, and Gyani Bhai Balaraj Singhji participated in reading and conveying the message of the holy book and the preaching of Guru Govind Singh.

Guru Gobind Singh is the 10th guru of the Sikh community and is known as ‘Guru Sahib’. 

Guru Singh Sabha in the city has been organizing this event over the past several years and has also celebrated festivals of the community grandly.
