Kundapur, Jan 6: The local taluk unit of Karnataka State Government Employees Association, will be organizing ‘Suvarna Sambhrama 2009’ to celebrate 50 years of existence, which will include inaugural of the Golden Jubilee Complex, convention and the workshop, at Madhava Mantapa in the premises of Bhandarkar’s College here on Saturday January 9.
The workshop will be inaugurated by the state president of the Association, L Bhyrappa at 9 am. In the workshop, Richard Lobo, joint secretary in the department of parliamentary affairs and legislation, Karnataka government, will present a talk on ‘Creativity in Service’, while Mohammed Anwar, assistant controller, legal metrology department, will speak on ‘Finding Enjoyment in Service’. Corporation Bank chief manager from here, Venugopal, will deliberate on the topic, ‘Comedy in Service’, while K R Kamath, retired Mescom official, will place his views on ‘Come, Let us Laugh’.
The Golden Jubilee Complex will be inaugurated by the state home minister, Dr V S Acharya, while local MLA, Halady Srinivas Shetty, will inaugurate the new office of the Association. Primary and secondary education minister, Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, will inaugurate the convention. Umanath Gangolly, president of the taluk unit of the Association, will preside. Leader of the opposition in the state assembly, Siddaramaiah, will release the souvenir. Udupi MP, D V Sadanand Gowda, will release department-wise information booklet. Shimoga MP, B Y Raghavendra, will convey his wishes.
Chairman of the Third State Finance Commission Recommendations Implementation Committee, A G Kodgi, Byndoor MLA, K Lakshminarayan, MLCs, K Pratapchandra Shetty and Kota Srinivas Poojary, will be the chief guests.
Udupi district deputy commissioner, P Hemalata, zilla panchayat chief executive officer (in-charge), Pranesh Rao, local sub-divisional officer, K N Ramesh, Manipal Academy of Geneal Education administrative officer, Dr Shantaram and Udupi District Government Employees Association president, K Subrahmanya Sherigar, will grace the occasion.
Diwakar N Kharvi of the fisheries department here, will be honoured for being a dedicated blood donor, while Dr Sharat Kumar of the Blood Bank in Udupi district hospital, will be felicitated for his achievement in the field of voluntary blood donation. Vasudev Hande, a social worker from here, will be honoured for his contribution in the field of social service.
The valedictory function to be held from 2.30 pm onwards will be presided over by L Bhyrappa. Udupi zilla panchayat president, Gladys D’Almeida, local municipal president, Mohandas Shenoy, Udupi taluk panchayat president, Jyoti Putran, Kundapur Urban Development Authority chairman, Mani Gopal, and Karnataka State Primary Teachers Association vice-president, K N Chandrashekhar Shetty, will be the chief guests.
