Beltangady: Diesel Theft from HPCL Pipeline Uncovered – Police Deployed

Beltangady, Jan 7: An incident of diesel theft from HPCL pipeline has been reported from Neralike at Santyaya of Neriya here.



It has been unearthed that a kilometre-long pipeline was connected drilling a hole into the HPCL pipeline and that it traversed through hilly forest areas as well as Santyaya stream. The people behind the theft also saw to it that the pipe does not float by inserting a PVC pipe along with huge stones inside the metal pipe.

The diesel used to be carried out in a tanker from a stream nearby wherein the sand mining lorries came to wash their vehicles. The theft is being undertaken for over a month.

Police have been deployed after the incident came to light. Private security too is in place. This is the second such incident reported in the recent times after the incident at Dondole near Dharmastala here.
