Kalaburagi, Jun 14: Medical education minister Dr Sudhakar informed that there is no question of imposing lockdown again in the state of Karnataka.

Speaking to the scribes after visiting JIMS medical college in the city on the morning of Sunday, June 14, Dr Sudhakar said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to speak on this matter with chief minister B S Yediyurappa."

He further said, "There is no lack of infrastructure in quarantine centres. All arrangements are done according to the guidelines." He also defended the system of sending people to their homes even before the arrival of the report of throat swab of suspected people.

The minister said that WHO has made it clear that the chances of the pandemic spreading is minimal if the person does not carry any symptoms.

Now, only those who arrive from Maharashtra and overseas countries are being placed under quarantine, informed Dr Sudhakar.

Dr Sudhakar also paid visit to the famous religious center of Ganagapur Datta Mandir.

We have seen what the other countries do. They have not been successful barring a few. We have collected enough data regarding mortality. The Corona endgame is uncertain. Considering our demographics, resources, this could be the reason for the new stance .

Better late than never, countries all over the world have realized that lockdown is not a solution for diseases like Corona. It has brought more misery and suffering. The death rate was,is and will be more than without lockdown , as the only solution is herd immunity (and vaccine when it is discovered). Airports, seaports and borders if sealed in January would have prevented import of the virus into our country. At a later stage a single house or flat declared as contaminant zone if and when a positive case was found ,and quarantine of incoming passengers would have been better than putting the whole country in lockdown mode.Live a normal life, Be Happy Be Healthy.Be positive, you will then be Corona negative.

This is a very true point. no one realised that the sudden lock down Modi imposed would cause a major wreck to the country later on when the virus would have spread more and more people would need to go to their home town with the virus. It was also a stupid decision on people's part who flew in from other countries and didn't take the lock down seriously. One bad decision from the government and a few bad decisions from people is the reason why India is where it is today.

The lock down happened when the cases were really low in India. And now that the cases have sky rocketed, they feel like its not needed? Where's the sense in that? Ofcourse the lock down that happened didn't help at all because at that point it was a stupid step taken by the government. And now, its backfired. Now the government will let the people suffer and take their own precautions. If you survive, then good for you. otherwise too bad. Where are all the people who were praising Modi and saying that he is truly a leader who cares about his people? Doesn't look like there's much care now. Now that the economy has taken a hit for the worst, Modi knows that lock down will make things worse. So now he feels its better to not enforce another lock down to help the Indian economy. Maybe it would've been a smarter decision to impose the lock down after people had moved to their home towns. But at that point, no one saw any harm in what was done. Everyone was too busy praising the decision and saying how great he is. Now everyone is suffering!

If not for the early lockdown when the cases very very few, you would have seen the numbers thrice of four times now.
The lockdown was effective in containing the spread in most parts of India, including Mangalore/Karnataka. Very few places like Delhi , Mumbai Kolkata, and Ahmedabad the disease has gone to the level of community spread.
A continued lockdown might make the economy collarless, hence not recommended.

That's not true. Yes, places like Mumbai and other cities had the spread worse than Mangalore and Udupi. But that was the past. that's history. What about what's happening now? Do you know or understand why it's got so bad now? Because all the people from Mumbai and other cities who are local Mangaloreans came back to their home town now with the virus. If they ordered people to leave for their home towns before sealing the country then everyone would've moved before the virus got worse. Despite the lock down the country is in a terrible position.

    Dear Shankar

What you say it was not early lock down it was late lock down
In India lock down started only after trump dance and MP Chair.
Because of this Indians suffer inside India and also Out side of India People cannot reach their destiny on provided time.
Nation knows real story where we are today
