Bengaluru, Jun 19: A number of BJP legislators, who are unhappy at the fact that their constituencies are not getting grants, met state BJP president and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, and expressed their dissatisfaction. Over ten MLAs like Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Aravind Bellad, Y Bharath Shetty and D Vedavyas Kamath held discussions with Kateel for over two hours, and urged him to see that their constituencies get proper grants.

Kateel promised the legislators to discuss the matter with the chief minister and call a meeting for finding a solution to the problem.

The meeting gave rise to speculations. It is said that the meeting also considered the issue of cancellation of mass transfers. The legislators explained that they are in a situation in which for each of the transfer, they have to approach the chief minister. They wanted to have some say to ensure that officials who are amenable to their instructions and ideas are posted to their home constituencies.

It is said that the ten MLAs, before meeting Kateel, held meeting at the residence of Aravind Bellad for about two hours.

The MLAs reportedly said that Yediyurappa differentiates between legislators when releasing grants and therefore their constituencies are facing step motherly treatment. They also wanted division-wise meetings to sort out issues in detail and then to convene legislature party meeting.

Speculations are rife about what happened at the meeting. All the legislators including Basanagouda Yatnal have been instructed not to openly issue statements relating to the meeting. Therefore, the legislators concerned are not prepared to discuss anything about the meeting.
