Dragon not allowed: Delhi Budget Hotels ban Chinese guests

New Delhi, Jun 25 (IANS): Chinese nationals will not be able to access budget hotel or guest house accommodation in the national capital, as the tussle between the Asian giants has led to an avalanche of anti-China sentiment in India.

Accordingly, the Delhi Hotels & Restaurant Owners Association (DHROA) announced that budget hotel or guest house accommodation will not be provided to Chinese nationals in Delhi.

The development comes as DHROA extended full fledged support to "Boycott Chinese Campaign" of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).

"In view of the nefarious activities of China, it has been decided that no Chinese will be accommodated in Delhi's hotels and guest houses from now onwards," CAIT said in a statement.

"Delhi has about 3,000 budget hotels and guest houses with about 75 thousand rooms."

Furthermore, DHROA decided not to use any Chinese made products in their hotels and guest houses.

As per the statement, CAIT will now make all efforts to rope in various sectors to join the campaign.

"CAIT will now contact national organizations of transport, farmers, hawkers, small scale industries, consumer entrepreneurs themselves, women entrepreneurs and connect them with this campaign," the statement said.

In addition, CAIT said that by December 2021, traders along with Indian citizens will reduce the imports from China to the tune of Rs 1 lakh crore.

    If India has problem with Pakistanis, no muslim country will ban Indians to Guld countries. No one should deny hospitality to another human being because we are human beings. These chinese will against their own regime.
    Lets not be too emotional as lose humanity.
    What chinese military did to our soldiers is barbaric and its unforgivable sin.
    Yet, we should have high moral gound to treat chinese already in our country as human beings as not refuse food and accomodation.
    Do not be surprised if chinese have already packet made-in-china product labeled as made in Vietnam. We will be real idiots to believe that this ban on chinese goods works. they are not as dumb as we are. Thats why their economy is 4times stronger than ours.

    There are more indian trading business houses operating in china than chinese visitors to india. There are hundreds of indian restaurants in china. What have chinese tourists done to blacklist them? They have money. Lots of money. If they don't feel welcome here, they will go to someother place and do business.

    They are showing their money and muscle power now to control India, Asia and US. And pushing their godless communist style government everywhere, directly or indirectly. That's the problem now and during communist revolution in china and Russia how many millions people got vanished god only knows.

    They would be ok but other countries' fate would be like Venezuela or North Korea etc. This virus they have brought out for the same reason to weaken economy, create chaos and destabilisation then incursion or their proxy government as in Nepal or left leaning coalition in canada, italy, spain... And then invasion.

    This corana virus initial spread mainly by chinese visitors, they locally shutdown wuhan but deliberately kept open international flights to spread the virus around the world.

    These communist chinese can not be trusted they might get more powerful virus. Need to take care of it as there are ruthless they are ready to kill their own citizens and to control the world, they can go any extent. They are least bothered about economy as they already have made billions by selling cheap rate items worldwide. But they have ruined others economy and making big corona related medical equipment business also with their faulty testing kits probably to spread virus more.

    Come On Guys!!! How can you be so Dumb!!!! When our own Central Govt can issue them visas to visit our country what's the point in not allowing them to stay in hotels?????
    If Central has guts let it ban the visas to them, ban imports!!!
    On one side Central is allotting 1000's of crore tenders to Chinese firms and other side fooling people by asking them to ban using Chinese products.

    This is a most stupid move. Budget hotels and guest houses are the ones who lose and not Chinese. Chinese Business men can spend money in five star hotels also. Regarding not using Chinese Products is a question mark...??????

    The unilateral decision of Delhi Hotels & Restaurant Owners Association (DHROA) is against the ethics of this nation which treats the guest "Atithi Devo Bhava". The guest is god, prescribes a dynamic of the host–guest relationship which embodies the traditional Indian Hindu-Buddhist philosophy of revering guests with same respect as god.

    Overall by March 2020, China has invested $26 billion plus in India – up by 24.4 billion plus since 2014, when its investments were mere $1.6 billion.

    China has funded 30 Indian start-ups with a cumulative investment of about $4 billion. This despite rhetoric at home about boosting start-ups and MSMEs. Multiple Chinese apps are raking in millions from India. Jack Ma made 40% investment in government-sponsored PayTM when he visited India in 2015.

    Pitfalls of Zoom were realized only when data of 500,000 hacked accounts was put on sale on the dark web. Cashing on Coronavirus, China timed Zoom with lockdowns around the world. Even our defence minister was seen using it. China’s largest electric car company BYD, intent to enter India, has become the biggest face-mask producer.

    Chinese companies have invested $346 million in grocery suppliers, another $100 million in a sports platform, in addition to investing in mobile companies, e-commerce and capital investments. None of these companies incidentally contributed a penny to the PM-CARE Fund.

    China has also been ‘donating’ and selling Coronavirus testing kits, ventilators, PPEs and face-masks to multiple countries, most of which are faulty or dud.

    When the Prime Minister of India says 'no incursion' happend then why the hospitality industry that has already hit hard by pandemic?

    Dear Delhi Hotels Owners,

    Why do you ban Chinese visitors to your hotels? Is this make any sense or banning Chinese products??

    BJP built the highest STATUE in CHINA??? Chinese products are accessible in India by various industries/companies/people, whereas other country products are expensive and can't accessed by all...

    We require to maintain trade between both countries as per WTO terms and also to keep neighbourly relationship. Whatever has happened should have been avoided or should be stoppable if there is wisdom & vision from both sides. Arrogance and Lies to people is not good by PM/MEA/MOD officials...
    CHINA IS STRONGER AND A LEADER IN ASIA. Use brain and stop barking loud!!!

    .. when Chinese goods are restricted to enter Indian market, people might feel the pinch for some time. Gradually people will get used to non-chinese products with little higher cost. Restriction to Chinese goods can be done in a planned and phased manner without breaking WTO terms.
    If you still want to buy the Chinese goods without any respect to our martyred soldiers, then its your arrogance.

    FYI, as long as Modi is ruling this can not happen as per the recent surrender pact agreement signed with China. After all he has to maintain the title 'Surender Modi'.     Ban imports completely and not which is already imported in India, Indians has already paid to chinese and why can't Indians import from china to UAE and stamp as made In UAE and again import to India. by hook or crook, chinese market won't be affected, until and unless we start Manufacturing our own,
