Mangalore, Feb 16: In an incident that occurred in Mallikatta on Tuesday February 16, a shop dealing with auto gas caught fire, injuring three workers attempting to douse fire.
The fire that broke out at Jilu auto gas in the afternoon has been attributed to technical problem in the equipment used for servicing works. The shop apart from sales and service of the auto gas also sells equipment related to the The shop has business of auto gas service also sells related equipment. The spark of fire from the equipment spread all over the shop and the workers therein immediately began dousing the fire.
Three among the workers at the shop were injured as glass pieces that burst due to the fire pierced their bodies while working to douse the fire. The injured were shifted immediately to a private hospital by the colleagues. Timely use of water to douse the fire by public and staff helped control the dangerous spread of blaze. Fire personnel, who were summoned, doused the fire completely.
The damage is yet to be assessed with all the equipment in the shop including furniture completely gutted in fire.
