Dubai : MCBC Team Wins Easter Cup Cricket - 2010

Dubai, Mar 7: MCBC team won the Easter Cup 2010 by defeating Bantwal Tigers in the final match of the Easter Cup Tournament held at Safah Cricket Ground here on Friday March 5. There were thirteen teams who participated whole-heartedly in the tournament. 

It was nice to see all South Canara Konkani youth present with Frank Fernandes and Arun Mendis. Deepak held the prayer. The teams, Eagles Shirva, Karaval Milan, Taccode Friends, Milagreans Kallianpur, MCBC, Bellevision, Udyavarites, Dublin Friends, Spark Cricketers, Hospet Challengers, Paladka Panthers, Al Quoz11 and Bantwal Tigers participated in the league matches. In the entire tournament beginning from league, quarter finals, and semi-finals and in the final matches the outstanding performance recognised and honoured with man of the match awards, respectively.

The tournament was organized by Rajesh Alvares, Paul D’Souza, and Wilson D'Mello with the help of Taccode Friends.



































Vinay Pinto proposed the vote of thanks. Basil, Preemas, Praveen and scorer Rakesh D’Souza were among who strived for the tournament's success.

At the concluding ceremony the trophies were distributed to the winning teams by Raymond, former basket ball coach of St Aloysius College, Mangalore, Lawrence D’Souza and Rayan D’Souza Al – Rein Metallic Constructions Sharjah.

    I think the organisers doesn't want to accaept the true comments and the critics, that means in future also they want to organise with same manner, I tried to bring this issue to make them understand and try to organise quality tournaments in the future, it is up to the organisers to accept or not. in real life critics are always helping you to improve your weakness if you accept it positively

    Congratulations MCBC team for winning the Easter Cup 2010. As far as I am concerned, it was a well organized cricket tournament with fair umpiring. Well done organizers, specially Wilson, Rajesh & Paul. All the concerns including lunch etc., were addressed well in advance by the organizers by informing us a day earlier. So no compaints. Now a days it is very difficult to get 11 players, forget alone organizing a tournament which has 143 (only RC) players and 12 nonstop matches. Well done again and looking forward for many such tournaments.

    Nice to see so many comments on Easter Cup 2010.
    I would like to congratulate the organizers for organizing a wonderful cricket tournament for Roman Catholic Christians. Great work by Wilson, Paul n Deepak. Hope to play in the next year’s Easter cup. We can learn from our mistakes so welcome the critics.

    Thank you PAUL,WILSON and RAJESH for arranging such a wonderful tournament. It was pleasure watching youth brigade from all over Manglore, Udupi, Bantwal and many other plances. All of them played in beautiful manner. We really enjoyed our part of matches.Congraturlations to MCBC and well done Bantwal tigers. Once again thank you one and all who contributed towards success of this tournament.

    Thank you so very much for comments, coming to your 1st comment there was plenty of water kept besides the pedal area, if U have not observed it we are just helpless. And taking AED 350/- don’t think that organizers would make some huge profit out of it, try to make positive calculations, like where you meet some of your back home known people may be after long time, how happy you feel to shack hand with them and talk, isn’t this is priceless moment?. Where in if you take that AED 350/- and go to a restaurant defiantly you will have good ambience and delicious food, but definitely not those priceless moments (If you are true sportsman or lover of sports), which you could cherish after years. And your 3rd comment we highly appreciate and also in the near future will implement it.

    Dear Richard, I have personally witnessed the hard work put in by our 3 very young & energetic personalities with the help of Taccode Friends without any sponsors. If you don’t get your calculations proper please do take a pain of organizing such tournament this is a kind advice and hence all sport lovers will be on their toes to participate.

    Although we have left Mangalore & come over seas for our livelihood,we have not left our culture of critizing our fellow Mangaloreans for all the community services they do(like conducting tournaments,which brings us all together at least for a day admist all our tough life out here) to keep us together.At least comment something to appreciate these organisers so that we shall have more of such tournaments happening around,when we are away from home.
    We Mangaloreans forget our hospitality the moment we step out of Mangalore(D.K.)& resort to cheap comments & pull down people & their enthusium.For which we are known for.
    See what you could do for these youngsters ,at least appreciate them.

    Dear Mr. Richard: we really wish we could give free lunch to all players followed by an ice cream too. But don't forget this match has been organised by few individuals, not by any organisation and we didn't had any sponsers. And don't forget that winning teams has been rewarded with cash prize along with a handsome trophys. Hopefully next time if we able to get some sponsers than critics we would't like to do it grand style.

    Mr Richard Please support such guys, who atleast take some inetiative. How much time and support do people get in Dubai to do such tournaments and arrangements. When time comes to become an volunter there are none but many to criticize. We would appreciate your help along with the advise. I am informing you this becaruse i have also arranged many matches and i know the pain and hardwork that goes in arranging such events.

    Could you please make some corrections in your comment. I think you have not observed about the drinking water it was kept near the Commentary Place.To provide food we didnt have any sponsors. hence we could not provide food free of cost.

    Thank you so much for your comment.

    Before commenting anybody’s initiative or effort please understands their efforts & difficulties to organize and arrange such a big tournament by 3 members in their busy working schedule and for your kind information we arranged plenty water at the scoreboard. At the end of the tournament balance one full 20litr bottle we have taken to home. It is not our mistake that u didn’t find it. It’s a common practice to carry water in a hot country like Dubai.

    We have provided free food only for those who helped in the tournament. We charged only Dhs. 350/- for tournament expenses. Also we had given the cash rewards with Germany made Trophies not cheaper Chinese trophies (You can check with the winners if u still has doubt on it you can go to Leader sports). We will consider your third point for the future tournament.

    From 4.30AM till 7.30PM we were in ground then you can imagine how much efforts we have taken behind this tournament. At that time you didn’t helped us even in single hand. We played many tournaments in Dubai and they were not serving water and forget about food and charging double. If you require further clarification call me 055-7561851

    Making comment is easy but organizing is difficult.

    before organising such tournaments the organiser should seriously think some of the below points
    1. should serve the drinking water for the players.
    2. You people are charging AED. 350 for the registration fees than you should serve free lunch for the players.
    3. you should write the position on individual trophys like man of the mach, man of the series ext. no organiser name on individual trophy's.
