Puttur: Lawyer comes up with novel challenge to handle coronavirus

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Jul 27: V Shylaja Amarnath, a city-based advocate, has come up with an interesting challenge for the people's representatives from the state. "It is up to you to treat this as a challenge or offer. I offer to contribute Rs 10 lac of my hard-earned money for coronavirus related expenses in the state. Now, I challenge you to contribute Rs 20 lac each for this purpose," she has said in her Facebook post.

A video uploaded by the lawyer two days back in which she is seen challenging the people's representatives of the state to contribute Rs 20 lac each has become viral now. She has offered in the video to form a committee for Covid eradication. "I hereby offer to contribute Rs 10 lac out of my hard-earned money to the committee. All of you spent crores of rupees during the election to get elected. Everyone and your own conscience know about it," she said.

The lawyer said that the people's representatives have to donate Rs 20 lac each to the committee. "Each of the 224 MLAs can contribute Rs 20 lac each. Let this amount be spent towards individual constituencies of these MLAs. Let us see why Covid cannot be decimated. Let us forget about the taxes we have paid to the government and corruption if any involved therein. Let us create a committee and use an app so that financial dealings of the committee become everyone's knowledge. She feels that in this way, corona infection can be uprooted from the entire state.

She said that none of the government offices are kept neat and clean and said that a committee can be formed to change this situation. She said that the people's representatives spend crores of rupees for the election and asked them to agree to contribute Rs 20 lac by accepting this challenge.

Another way to fool people to donate money... do not fall to this prey... let her donate it if she is excess.... i am sure as she is a lawyer she might have done a lot of money looting her clients and hence she is doint this....I feel this corona scare is a gimic done jointly by hospital and media.... there is no corona in India.. just observe the people who have died ... they either had serious complications or they were aged.... when test done in one hospital comes negative, the next test done in another hospital with the time gap of 10 to 20 min comes as positive.. when someone dies and if they are taken to hospital... they are 100% listed as corona positive.... A kid of 10th committed suicide in Kundapur as they were tested corona positive and when after death test result came... the boy was negative.... what is happening....may be there is corona... but hospitals and medias are simply scaring us so that we will shed money out of scare and they will also get money from govt for each positive cases... I also heard that the so called "Asha karyakarthas" get Rs 3000 each for admiting one patient as corona positive.....

The Idea is good but the challenge will not work. When a party of MLAs have money to purchase MLAs of another party, they will not contribute for welfare of voters that voted them. Rs 20 Lac is peanut for MLAs to contribute for removing Pandemic but interesting part, lady yours is hard earned and taxed money but the MLAs have looted money. Accepting Rs. 20 Lac looted money is ok at the moment to fight pandemic. Under any cirumstances don't take the first step because once deposited it will not come back. No MLA including the CM and Ex-CM or Dy. CM. will come forward.

I applaud the good intentions of this lady but I have absolutely no regard for the present day Indian politicians. Most of them enter politics with the sole intention of feathering their own nest and not with the intention of doing good to the society. It is too much to expect them to part with 20 lakhs. They stoop down to any level to make money and I treat most of them with utter disdain. While I thank Messrs Shailaja for the concern she has shown, I don't think she will get any support from the politicians.

I like her challenge to the politicians. Last night I was watching GABBAR movie acted by Akshay Kumar which is related to the challenge. If everyone join hands with this lady for sure see the difference in COVID spread and cure with funds collected towards finding medicine. Few will stand up like her and public need to support her

MLA s never pays out of their own pocket. If challenge accepted then favourite contractors in each MLA area have to cough up additional 20 lakhs along with what they are normally paying. That means less quality in their work. Whatever way they takes, public will suffer.

    Poor Shylaja Madam 🤣🤣🤣
I also read with great interest. When i read ' conscience of politicians' then I stopped.... No use.....
I had started in the same way in my professional life thinking that I would ask them this, tell them they have not done that, how can they jump parties like changing shirts and all that stuff. My friends in the fraternity then told me ' Man you are new to the job and you will learn ' ! AND I LEARNT SND HOW !! You guessed my job then??
Madam... You are barking up the wrong tree !
Looks like you don't know... much about politics... Slowly you too will learn.
Put your hard earned money to a good cause... Yes... but not in partnership with politicians.
    All the v. best...
