Udupi, Aug 31: Sri Krishna Janmashtami will be held on September 10 and on September 11 in Vittlapindi as per the necessary religious rituals at Krishna math. However, permission for public participation in the festival will be decided by the district administration of Udupi, said Admar Paryaya Math Swamiji Sri Ishapriya Theertha.

He was speaking at a press meet held at Kanaka Mantapa, Sri Krishna Math here on Monday, August 31. "Public and devotees are waiting for the Ashtami celebrations with a lot of expectations," he said.

"Religious rituals and pooja, prayer to Lord Krishna will be held as usual. The most important ritual, the 'Arghya Pradhana' will be held on September 10 between 12.00 am - 12.16 am. The ritual will be broadcasted live from math," Swamiji asserted and adding that there is enough space to accommodate 30-40 members inside the temple (Garbha Gudi) while also following social distancing.

"We do not wish to hurt the feelings of the devotees. We also do not want to go against the rules and regulations. Therefore the decision regarding celebrations and gathering of people will be up to district deputy commissioner. We wanted to maintain our ancient traditions and culture and were making necessary arrangements for it."
