Bengaluru: CM calls meeting with cabinet ministers to prep for monsoon session

Bengaluru, Sep 6: The monsoor session of the state legislative assembly should have got completed by now, however, it was postponed in the wake of the prevailing coronavirus situation in the country and the state.

Now the monsoon session is going to begin on September 21. Chief minister Yediyurappa has called the meeting of cabinet ministers on Monday September 7 to discuss important points of the session and work so far.


The meeting is due to take place at 6 pm at the CM's home office 'Krishna'. The important point of discussion is said to be the way in which the monsoon session is to be conducted. There are allegations making rounds that the state government has failed to contain the coronavirus pandemic. There is a possibility that the opposition parties may launch an attack on the ruling BJP government keeping the coronavirus situation in the state as their weapon. Hence the CM has decided to hold a meeting prior to the session to plan a counter-attack.

Yediyurappa will also look into the works that are done in various departments, action taken to contain the spread of coronavirus, measures taken to tackle the flood situation, developmental programmes and working style of individual ministers. He is also expected to give instructions to the ministers with regards to their future step and also the way they should handle questions in the session.

In addition to administrative matters, CM Yediyurappa is going to hold discussion on drugs network, which has made a huge wave in the state.
