Kasargod, Apr 13: A construction worker died in the town on Monday April 12, while eating a banana, out of suffocation.

Chennabasavappa (22), a native of Shiratti Nagarmadu in Gadag district, was working in a construction site at Bela area here. He was a centring worker by profession, and had come here two weeks back. He was eating a banana after lunch on Monday April 12, when the fruit got stuck in his throat, resulting in suffocation.

Even though he was immediately shifted to a hospital, he was declared brought dead.
