Kasargod, May 2: Home minister Dr V S Acharya's car met with a minor accident as it was hit by the police escort vehicle from the rear at Karandakad junction in the district here on Sunday May 1. No serious injuries were reported.
The accident occurred at 9.30am when the minister's convoy was on its way to Nellikunnu mosque to participate in Uroos celebrations. Dr Acharya's car was hit by a escort vehicle when his car slowed down suddenly at a point as the vehicle could not brake on time.
Dr Acharya impromptu decided to visit the local Bharatiya Janata Party office and decided to stop the vehicle at the spot. An officer in the escort vehicle has sustained minor injuries.
