Udupi: Religious Scholar, Srinivas Udupa Kunjoor (63) Passes Away

Udupi, May 8: Vedamurty Srinivas Udupa Kunjoor (63), a highly respected religious and Vedic scholar, who also was the priest of Kujoor Goddess Durga temple near Kaup, passed away on the morning of Friday May 7, due to cardiac arrest.

Udupa, who had in-depth knowledge about religious rituals, was a highly popular gentleman. He was actively involved with the renovation and reconstruction of several temples. During the renovation of Goddess Durga temple in Kunjoor, he had worked as the secretary of the temple renovation committee. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.

Various dignitaries, including Sri Sugunendrateertha Swamiji of Puttige Mutt here and Kaup MLA, Lalaji R Mendon, have grieved the untimely death of Udupa.
