Mumbai, Nov 14: To avoid gatherings during the festival season BMC has considered imposing Section 144 under the CrPC. The Mira-Bhayandar Vasai-Virar (MBVV) commissionerate has issued the section to avoid crowding during Diwali and Chhath puja.

The order was issued on Friday November 13 and it will remain in force until November 20, the day Chhath puja will be celebrated. Five or more people gathering together is prohibited during this period.

Any kind of public gathering such as organizing morchas, rallies, burning effigies, and so on is strictly prohibited and any violations will be booked.
