Mumbai: Unidentified people booked for tying 85-year-old to bed under flyover

Mumbai, Nov 16: The police on November 16 registered an offence against unidentified people for tying an 85-year-old woman to a bed under the JJ flyover near Manish Market in south Mumbai. On November 12, a video of the incident had gone viral, in the video, it could be seen that the old woman who lived on the pavement, was chained and locked to bed.

The victim has been identified as Amina Shaikh who was found chained behind a public toilet under the flyover, near Manish Market where beggars, backpackers and pavement dwellers reside.

An FIR under IPC for confinement against the unidentified people was registered by the police. Locals told the police that her relative had tied her as she used to wander around and go missing.

The police are investigating the case.
