Mangalore: Husband Deserted by Wife Commits Suicide

Mangalore, May 10: Two cases relating to the same family were registered in Suratkal police station on Sunday May 9. One was relating to the desertion of her husband by a woman, and the second was with regard to the suicide committed by the forlorn husband.

Roopesh (35), a resident of Kulai Chitrapur, committed suicide at his rented accommodation on the night of Saturday May 8, by hanging himself from thr beams of the kitchen roof using lungi. Reportedly, long-drawn misunderstandings he had with his wife, Jyoti (30) was the reason behind his suicide.

Mother of Jyoti, in a complaint filed with the Suratkal police station on Sunday, said that her daughter had gone missing from the home of her husband on Wednesday May 5, along with her daughters, Shravya (9) and Sameeksha (5).

Roopesh hand married Jyoti about 12 years back at Kateel, it is gathered.
