Woman files rape complaint against Mumbai cop

Mumbai, Dec 7: A police sub-inspector was booked for rape by the MRA Marg police after a woman filed complaint of rape against a police sub-inspector (PSI), attached to Mumbai police.

It is reported that the complainant was befriended through a social media. However, no arrest has been made so far.

DCP Shahaji Umap said that the police is investigating the case. According to the woman, she met the accused after he befriended her on Facebook. He reportedly promised to marry her.

Between January and February this year, the accused took the woman to a lodge in South Mumbai where he allegedly raped her. The woman reported that he assaulted her and refused to marry her.
