Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Dec 9: During the winter session, NCP leader Anil Deshmukh led home ministry is likely to introduce a bill to curb the attrocities against women after a long delay. The winter session of the state legislature is scheduled to take place on December 15-16.

The draft of the bill is in lines with AP's Disha Act which Deshmukh had promised to introduce during the budget session. However, it was curtailed following Covid-19.

Deshmukh is likely to place the bill before the cabinet on Wednesday. AP proposed death penalty for rape or gangrape, and for the trial to be completed within 21 days.
