Mumbai police drug peddlers with MD worth Rs 12 lac

Mumbai, Dec 10: Two drug peddlers were arrested in Santacruz here with mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 12 lac by the Mumbai police on Wednesday, December 9.

Based on definite information, the crime branch's unit-9 laid a trap at Daulat Nagar bus stop and arrested the accused who were in a car. On intercepting the vehicle, the police recovered 115 gm of MD, valued at Rs 12 lac from the men, an official said was quoted in a report by TOI.

The arrested accused Alpeshkumar Jain (36) and Shahnawaz Shaikh (40) were produced before a court, which ordered them to police custody till December 16, the official said.

The police also seized an electronic weighing machine and the car used by the duo, he added.
