Mumbai: Three robbers attack man on moving train - Snatch phone, wallet

Mumbai, Dec 11: A 19-year-old youth from Govandi was attacked with a razor blade by three robbers on a running CSMT-bound train at Cotton Green on December 9.

The victim identified as Mushtaq Kaif Haq registered a complaint with Wadala GRP. Haq is a wholesale mask dealer and lives at Rafiq Nagar. His work requires him to constantly commute from Kurla and Masjid. He was in a CSMT-bound local luggage compartment on the way to Masjid when the incident took place. Between 12.50 pm and 1 pm, before the train was to halt at Cotton Green station, the three accused in the coach approached him. One of them pulled out a razor blade and slashed Haq on his arm. The trio assaulted him and snatched his phone and wallet, and got off the train. Haq was later sent for treatment.

Police are investigating the CCTV footage of the Cotton Green station to identify the accused. A case has been lodged under IPC sections 394 and 34 at Wadala GRP.
