Kundapur: Two Accidents – Three Deaths, One Critical

Kundapur, Jun 12: In an accident that occurred at the road bend at Kinjady village near Kollur in the taluk on Friday June 11, the rider of a motor bike was critically injured after a KSRTC bus moving towards Kundapur from Kollur, hit him. The injured rider, Sudhakar Shetty (32) from Mudoor village, was immediately shifted to Manipal Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries later. A case was registered in this connection, at Kollur police station.

Meanwhile, in an accident involving a Maruti Swift car and Tempo Trax vehicle in front of Sandeepan high school in Nagur near Byndoor on national highway 17 on Friday evening, two people travelling in the car died while another suffered grievous injuries. The deceased have been identified as Moideen Kutty (43) and Shabbir (38) from Cheruvattur Padani near Kasargod. Their car was moving towards Kasargod from Goa while the Trax was moving towards Bijapur after visiting pilgrimage centre, Dharmasthala. The person with severe injuries was admitted into a hospital in Manipal, while nine passengers travelling in the Trax and two in the car, who suffered minor injuries, are being treated in a private hospital here.
