Mangalore: Foresters, Forest Guard, Appointment Process Underway in City

Mangalore, Jun 13: The first round of selection of foresters and forest guards was held at Karnataka Polytechnic Training Institute (KPT) on Saturday June 12. In all, 247 candidates participated in the selection process. 

S Shantappa, conservator of forests, Mangalore circle, O Palayya, Kundapur divisional forest officer, and assistant conservator of forests Manjunath Shetty were present along with 50 forest officers. 

Shantappa said that the selection is being held for 199 forest guard posts for which the qualification is SSLC and 49 posts of forester for which the qualification required is pre-university college with science (biology).
 
Shetty said that a physical test was done for the candidates on Saturday and they had to run from KPT to Bajpe and then back to KPT i.e. around 40 kms in four hours. The written test will be held at St Aloysius College in the city on Sunday June 13 at 10.30 am.
