Shimoga: Naxal Leader Nilaguli Padmanabh Arrested

Shimoga, June 13: The police have arrested naxal leader Nilaguli Padmanabh. It is said that he was arrested three days ago by Bangalore CCB police in Andhra Pradesh.

The arrest is yet to be confirmed by the district police. But, according to sources, he is being subjected thorough investigation at an undisclosed location. Padmanabh, who hails from Koppa taluk had sustained bullet injuries in a police encounter at Barkana near Agumbe, a few years ago.

Nilaguli Padmanabh carries Rs 5 lac reward on him. Padmanabh had participated in the struggle against mining and formation of Kudremukh National Park along with another naxal leader Devendrappa, who is in police custody now. 

Meanwhile, Anti-naxal Force (ANF) is involved in extensive combing operations in all the naxal affected areas as a precautionary measure in the Udupi district. The combing will continue on Sunday June 13 as well.
