Bengaluru, Feb 26: "Both Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and Popular Front of India (PFI) were repsonsible for the DJ Halli and KG Halli riots. Therefore they should be banned," demanded miniser Arvind Limbavali.
Addressing a press meet at the party office on Thursday February 25, Limbavali said that National Invesigation Agency (NIA) had filed charge sheet running into 7,000 pages in the court. So far, 247 accused have been arrested. Out of them, over 40 miscreants belong to SDPI, as per NIA information, he claimed.
He said that the residence of an MLA was torched and hundreds of vehicles were set ablaze. It was clear that they had made preparartions for the same in advance. They had specifically chosen Srikrishna Janmashtami festival day for the riots. That day, Fairoz posted a controversial video with onscene comments to provoke others, he explained.
Limbavali accused the Congress leaders of extending tacit support to both thse outfits. He pointed out that when Siddaramaiah was the chief minister, he had withdrawn over 1,600 cases filed against people belonging to these organizations in the year 2015.
State BJP general sectetary Ravikumar, Siddaraju, and state SC Morcha president Chalawadi Narayanaswamy, were present at the press conference.
