Daijiworld Media Network - Chikkamagaluru (SP)

Chikkamagaluru, Mar 5: It has come to light that a youth, who had an axe to grind against a man, somehow convinced the latter's daughter to accompany him, led her to a homestay facility where she was raped.

The incident happened within the limits of Balehonnur police station. A complaint has been registered against the accused, identified as Mahesh. He stands arrested.

The parents have accused Mahesh of offering drinking water laced with some intoxicating powder to their daughter and then raping her. Medical tests have yet to prove this allegation.

Mahesh was working as the driver of a backhoe owned by the girl's parents till seven months back. When he came for work, he was often found speaking to their daughter over mobile phone. The girl’s parents, angered by this, had warned him and then dismissed him. Mahesh was very much upset by this. On February 26, he contacted the girl over phone, came near her school, and took her to a homestay near Kalasa town where she was raped.

The girl not only reached home late that day but there were clearly changes in her behaviour. When the parents questioned her deeply, she revealed what had happened. The father of the girl registered a complaint in Balehonnur police station thereafter.
