Madikeri, Mar 6: The footprints of a tiger were sighted again in the plantation belonging to Puliyanda Jagadish in Maggula village, Virajpet taluk in the district on Friday March 5. He immediately alerted the forest officials.

On Friday, the tiger killed two cows, one belonging to Machchamada Gopli Pemmayya from Kavalageri village, and the other one belonging to Poovanna. Because of the tiger, every day one cow is losing its life. The villagers are angry at the failed capture plan of the forest department. They are seeking to capture the animal or shoot it to death without further delay.

The government in the meantime, has issued an order allotting forest conservator for Kodagu on full scale. T Ranawat Singh, an IFS officer, has been posted to the district as the district chief conservator of forests for the district from his current posting at Bhadra tiger sanctuary.
