Barring Assam, BJP may lose all states, predicts Pawar

Pune, Mar 14 (IANS): Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar on Sunday claimed that barring Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to lose the upcoming Assembly elections in the other three states and a Union Territory.

Addressing the media in his hometown Baramati, Pawar said his assessment was based on the ground level situation and reports emanating from these states and UT.

About West Bengal, Pawar accused the BJP government at the Centre of "grossly abusing its power" to target Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is fighting a single-handed battle for the people of her state.

"The people of West Bengal are self-respecting. If anyone tries to attack the Bengali culture and pride, the whole state will stand up unitedly and retaliate," warned Pawar.

He said in such a scenario, no matter what anybody may claim, he was confident that "Mamata Banerjee will return to power".

In Kerala, Pawar said the NCP is in alliance with the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and there is little doubt that they would attain a majority in the coming elections to retain power.

The poll scenario in Tamil Nadu seems to be in favour of the opposition DMK and its chief M.K. Stalin, who would unseat the ruling AIADMK and the people of the state would wholeheartedly support him to take over the reins of the state, Pawar added.

On Assam, the NCP chief said the BJP is already in power there and its comparative position there seems good so far, and hence it would retain power in that northeastern state.

The multi-phased elections for Assam, and West Bengal begin March 27, while Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will vote on April 6. Counting in all five polls will be held on May 2.

Pawar is wrong in his assessment. Not only will BJP retain Assam, but will win big in West Bengal, overthrowing TMC. He needs to understand that BJP has nothing to LOOSE in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, all places they are marginal players - but BJP has everything to GAIN.

BJP is definitely going to be a loser on the following counts 1. They stooped to the nadir by using investigating agencies against CM and used this a poll plank during the recent Panchayath elections and got the drubbing 2. The poll expenditure of the BJP in Kerala was the highest ever in the panchayath elections and it is going to exceed in the coming elections 3. BJP leader Shobha Surendran went to the extent of suggesting tie-up with Indian Union Muslim League, which was hitherto untouchable for them 4. BJP which rakes the beef issue everywhere in country is silent about the same in Kerala 5. BJP which said it is Vamana Jayanthi and not Onam which needs to be celebrated does not have the guts of saying that now. 6. All the national leaders including Mr. Yogi, Mr. Shah, Ms. Irani, Ms.Nirmala visited recently for campaigning. Last Parliament elections, even Modi travelled the length and breadth of the state, but got the taste of Kerala electorate. 7. BJP National leaders supported Sabarimala verdict and when they saw people reaction against the verdict, immediately they changed their stance, putting even chameleons to shame. Even after stooping to the lowest kind of politics, if you are saying you are going to celebrate victory with two seats, then just imagine, what depths of political bankruptcy you may have to go to win in this state ? Mr. Vijayan is going to win for astute leadership unlike Mr. Surendran who is the BJP’s Pappu in Kerala. The achievements of the LDF are how they handled the floods, pandemic, Public Distribution System (Ration), Pension, Housing for the poor, Infrastructure Development and so on. Within 6 months of the flood, all the roads in the entire State was repaired. The LDF rule is not without flaws, but the willingness of people to elect an incumbent government again, which rarely happens in Kerala, speaks volumes about the LDF rule. Lal Salaam Vijayetta, we are with you.

PAWAR SAHEB IS SEASONED POLITICIAN WITH VAST EXPERIENCE HAVING SERVED AS CHIEF MINISTER AS WELL AS UNION MINISTER. THE TIME WHEN OUR NATION IS PASSING THROUGH UNCERTAINTY AND NO PROPER OPPOSITION PARTY THE PILLARS OF DEMOCRACY IS SHAKING. IT IS HIGH TIME PAWAR SAHEB TO TAKE LEAD AND GUIDE THE POLITICAL PARTIES NOW TO LAY THE FOUNDATION FOR NEXT GENERAL ELECTION.

How will BJP loose they state when it has none ? Any one state other than Assam, gain is also BJP's win and Oppositions loss. 2 seats in Kerala is also BJP's win because it will come at a cost of LDF or UDF.
