Mumbai: Gang kills man, assaults family over trivial issue


Mumbai, Mar 15: A group of men killed a man in his fifties and assaulted his children over a petty issue. The incident took place at Sakinaka, Andheri on March 13.

Four people have been arrested in this regard. The accused were preparing to leave for their hometown in Uttar Pradesh. Raees Khan, the deceased, did odd jobs and lived in Sakinaka. Police said some of the accused lived close to him and had frequent disputes with his family over trivial issues.

On March 13 at 11 am Raees was walking near a tea centre with his son, Firoz, and daughter, Zeba, at the Khadi number 3 area. Prime accused, Shakir Khan, ambushed him along with his aides.

The men hurled expletives at Raees and his family before assaulting them. Shakir hit Raees with a wooden plank while Firoz and Zeba were also assaulted by the group.

Raees was rushed to the Rajawadi Hospital at Ghatkopar where he was pronounced dead at 12.30 pm.

    Very very bad sad too.Simply group of people assault ,kill the man infront of his children ,and assault children.where does it go?Are we now reached a point where a life of a person has no value?Noone helped him?Tragic.Police should arrest these people with help of cctv camera if any .and punish them .Dont allow them to come out.What is now with family ?Heartfelt sympathy to the family.may his soul rest in peace.The family must get some compansation .
