Mumbai, Mar 17: Kannada Sangha women’s wing, here, on Sunday afternoon, March 14 held its annual get together at Mysore Association auditorium, Matunga east. Earth crop biofertilizer director Dr Krishan U Pai who was the chief guest, lit the lamp and inaugurated the programme.

Mumbai Kannada Sangha president G S Nayak presided over the programme. Chandrashekar Memorial Trust Bhandup president Sridevi C Rao and GSB Mahila Sabha King circle former president Shanteri N Nayak were the guests of honour. G S Nayak released the book ‘Jana Manasadalli Akka Hagoo Mira’ written by Mumbai Kannada author and poetess Dr Dakshayini Yadahalli.

A poetess conference was chaired by Mumbai’s veteran author Dr Suma Dwarakanath. Dr Dakshayana Yadahalli, Shanta Shastri, Saroja Amaati, Lalita Angadi, Kumuda Shetty, Sharada Ambesange, Vasanta Chandrashekar and Archana Poojary presented their poems.

Students who secured the highest marks in the Kannada certificate course examination were presented cash prizes and certificates.

Women’s wing president Dr Rajani V Pai welcomed the gathering and gave an introduction. Shashidhar K Pai and Rajani Shashidhar troupe presented ‘Dhun Melodies’, a musical programme in the company of Ajay Prabhu and Anupama Gupta.

Gurunarayana Night School female students sang a prayer song. Shraddha Vinod introduced the guests. Narmada S Kini compered the programme. Prafulla Rao rendered a vote of thanks.
