Mumbai: Second AGM of Thonse Shree Brahma Baidarkala Panchadhoomavathi Garodi Seva Trust held

Mumbai, Mar 17: The second AGM of Thonse Shree Brahma Baidarkala Panchadhoomavathi Garodi Seva Trust, here, was held on March 14, at Billawa Bhavan, Santacruz East.

The president, Nithyanand D Kotian, presided over the meeting. In the beginning, A two-minute-silence was observed as a mark of respect for recently expired prominent personalities, Jaya C Suvarna, M B Kuckian, Professor Shiva Billawa and member Shekhar Poojari.

Vice-president Vishwanath Tonse welcomed the members present. Joint-secretary Karunakar Poojari, read minutes of the last AGM held on July 21, 2019 which was passed unanimously. General-secretary Sanjeev Poojari Thonse presented the annual report with details of last year's activities, the contribution for medical assistance scheme, financial help to needy students etc. General treasurer Raviraj Kalyanpur presented audited accounts to the members with details of collections, expenses which were passed unanimously. S N Poojary and Co, Chartered Accountants, who have been rendering free services were again appointed as auditors for 2020- 21.

Vice-president, Vishwanath Tonse, informed about honoring meritorious students who excelled in SSC and BE examinations last year as per the association's practise. Accordingly, Siya Kiranchandra Poojari and Anusha Jaya Poojari SSC toppers and Sahil Mahesh Thonse BE (Mechanical), were honoured with a memento and cash prize by the president, vice-presidents, secretary and treasurer.

Vice-presidents C K Poojary and D B Amin, expressed their happiness to see many members present for the AGM in spite of the pandemic situation and said that a strong foundation is necessary for any association to carry out its mission. They assured of their continued support. Krishna Palan, Bharathi N Suvarna, Laxmi Kotian, Vijay Sanil, Sahil and Anusha presented their views.

President Nithyanand Kotian, in his presidential speech, appreciated the presence of a good number of members. He stated that the Trust should function very actively in the future, should conduct different cultural and social activities to bring unity amongst the members. "We should also organise special programmes for youngsters and ladies. Our Trust should contribute to the activities at Thonse Gorodi regulary and should also respond to appeal for financial help from the needy people." He appealed to the members to mobilise resources for building the financial strength of the Trust and thanked all seniors and others for their timely support always.

Sanjeeva Poojari Thonse, presented details of financial help provided and names of the individual donors who contributed to this noble cause and hoped for their continued support. The secretary proposed the vote of thanks to all with special thanks to the Billawar Association for proving space for the meeting.
