Groom's parents fined Rs 50,000 for flouting Covid norms in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Mar 17: Amid the rise in coronavirus infections in Maharashtra, the state government has ordered people to strictly adhere to health guidelines to prevent the further spread of infections. Further, the government has warned of fines for those who violate the health norms.

One such violation was observed at a wedding in Duparepada village in Wada taluka of Palghar district where a groom's parents were fined Rs 50,000 for organising a wedding with over 300 guests on Sunday evening.

District officials who visited the venue found people without masks and that social distancing norms were violated.
