Mumbai: Neighbour booked after minor delivers

Mumbai, Mar 18: The police booked a 21-year-old after a 12-year-old girl from Mira Road delivered a baby boy. A neighbour reportedly noticed the girl last month and informed a social activist. The activist then contacted the father of the girl who is a daily wager.

The girl had lost her mother two years back. Tests revealed that she was seven months pregnant. She was admitted to JJ hospital where she delivered a baby boy on Monday March 15.

The accused is said to be her brother's friend. He was booked by the Kashimira police under IPC and POCSO Act.
