Mumbai: Veteran stage actor P V Aithal passes away at 79

Mumbai, Mar 23: Panambur Vasudeva Aithal (79), former vice president of Koota Mahajagathu, Mumbai passed away after a brief illness at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, Andheri (West) on Tuesday, March 23.

He was an active member of the BSKB association (Gokula) for more than five decades besides being the election officer. He was an excellent stage actor and a social worker. He had performed in dramas directed by Sadananda Suvarna, Suresh Anagalli, Mohan Marnad, Ramesh Shivapura, Dr Bharath Kumar Polipu and others.

He was a native of Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada. Aithal is survived by two daughters, a son and scores of friends and relatives.
