Mangaluru, Apr 12: Minorities are expressing their support to BJP, because of the party's concern towards minorities, said state BJP minority morcha vice president, Kennedy Shantha Kumar.
Addressing media here on Monday, April 12, Shantha Kumar said, "The minorities are leaving Congress and are joining BJP. This is a good development. There is no conflict between BJP and minorities, it was Congress that misled them. It is just that the minorities have realised it."
BJP has allotted Rs 1,500 crore in the budget for the welfare of the minorities compared to the amount of Rs 46 crore allotted during Congress tenure. Meanwhile, Rs 200 crore is directed for the development of the Christian community which shows the party's concern towards minorities, said Shantha Kumar.
I am on a tour across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu to strengthen the minority wing. So far, the response has been really good.
President of Beary Sahitya Academy, Rahim Uchil, district BJP general secretary, Sudheer Shetty Kannur and others were present.
