Kundapur, Apr 26: Chandrashekar Shetty Keradi has been elected president of the Kollur Mookambika temple committee. The election was between Dr Atul Kumar Shetty and Chandrashekar Shetty. While Chandrashekar Shetty received five votes, Dr Atul Kumar Shetty received four votes. The committee members were elected about six months ago.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chandrashekar said, “We should work without discriminating between president and members. Crores of devotees have faith over Mookambika. It is our responsibility to provide basic facilities to the devotees visiting the temple. Kollur temple is known not only as a religious place but also as an educational hub. We will give importance to the progress and cleanliness of the temple and work selflessly with the cooperation of elders and villagers. I am grateful to the government that appointed me as a president of the management committee and extend gratitude to the committee members that elected me,” he said.

Assistant commissioner K Raju, temple management official, Mahesh and others were present.
