Byndoor, May 1: In an accident that occurred on Ottinene near here, the driver of a tipper truck lost his life while the truck he was driving hit the fence of the road and overturned.

The tipper had overtaken a bike and was being run at very high speed from Shiroor to Byndoor on the afternoon of Friday April 30. When it went a little further after overtaking the bike, the driver of the tipper lost control, hit the fencing by the side of the road and fell into a 10 feet deep ditch.

The driver of the tipper, Vittal Chawan got stuck inside the tipper. He was removed by Mohammed Jaleel and others and taken to a private hospital in Byndoor. The doctor at the private hospital advised taking the driver to KMC Manipal for higher treatment. Later, when the driver was being taken to KMC Manipal, the ambulance driver felt that the driver of the tipper had breathed his last and took him to Brahmavar community health center where the doctors confirmed that he was dead.

A case in this regard is filed at the Byndoor police station.
