Mangaluru: ‘300 vehicles seized, over 150 cases under Epidemic Act filed’ – Police chief

Mangaluru, May 1: Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar revealed the number of cases over Covid norm violation during the lockdown on Saturday May 1.

He said, “More than 150 cases under Epidemic Act have been filed. As many as 300 vehicles have been seized during the lockdown period for violating the guidelines within the city police commissionerate.

“More than 2,000 mask rule violation cases have been reported. Epidemic Act cases have been filed against commercial establishment based upon the information given by the public. So far, the public has given full cooperation towards lockdown.

“We also received a complaint that a shop opens in the midnight to sell cigarettes. The department has taken action against the same and a case under Epidemic Act has been filed against the accused,” he said.
