Kundapur, May 3: Some people appear to have mistaken the extension till 12 pm for purchase of essential commodities in the revised orders announced by the government in the lockdown-like curfew. Police took action on people travelling around unnecessarily in vehicles on Monday. Some people were fined.

Purchase of only essential items was permitted till 12 pm. As the traffic density increased, police personnel got down to action. As many in the vehicles failed to explain the cause of travel, police took the vehicles in their custody and registered cases under violation of Corona protocol.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of Kundapur PSI Sadashiva Gavaroji and traffic PSI Sudarshan.
