Kundapur: Scooter hits against roadside drain, two youths killed

Kundapur, May 8: Two youths died on the night of Thursday May 6 at Belve of Siddapur near here as the scooter on which they were travelling hit a drain besides the Juma Masjid at Belve.

Nagaraj (17), resident of Belve and Prajwal (21), resident of Muddur in Nalkooru village are the deceased. Another youth Vinaya (20), resident of Hiliyana of Thirthalli is admitted to Manipal hospital.

Deceased Nagaraj was studying second PU in Commerce at Mandarti Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple pre-university college. He is the son of Belve Gopala Madivala and Paravati couple, who own a shop at Belve. Another deceased Prajwal was studying engineering in Bengaluru. He is the eldest son of Chandra Madiwala and Susheela couple, residents of Muddur of Nalkooru village. His father works in a catering company in Bengaluru. The injured Vinay is the son of Umesh Madiwala and Chandravathi couple of Theerthahalli origin.

Kundapur DySP Srikanth K, Shankaranarayana station officer Sridhar Naik and personnel visited the spot and did the inspection. Exact reason for the mishap is not known.

A case in this regard is registered at Shankaranarayana police station.
