Kasargod: Youth catching fish drowns in rivulet

Kasargod, May 10: A youth who was catching the fish in a rivulet was dragged away by the strong undercurrent in the rivulet. He drowned and lost his life.

Shafique (24), son of Ummer from Parapalli Katippara was the unfortunate youngster. He had visited the Payyangady rivulet along with his paternal uncle for fishing, when the incident happened.

The locals brought out the body of Shafique and took him to hospital but by then it was too late. The body has been preserved in the mortuary of Kannur medical college hospital.
