Udupi: MLA Bhat visits Kasturba hospital Manipal, holds meeting over Covid facilities

Udupi, May 11: MLA Raghupathi Bhat visited Kasturba hospital Manipal on Tuesday May 11, in view of increase in Covid patients day-by-day and held a meeting with medical officers over treatment being provided to Covid-infected patients, ICU and ventilators. He discussed providing additional facilities if the situation reaches a stage of going out of hand in the future.

As many as 410 oxygen beds and 100 general beds are arranged at KMC at present. Sixty ICU beds are converted for Covid. There are 40 HDU beds. Forty ventilators are ready. Another 12 ventilators are expected.

KMC medical superintendent Dr Avinash Shetty, chief operating officer Dr Muthanna, Dr Rahul, Ayushman (KBRK) nodal officer Surendra Chimbalkar, Dr Sachidananda and others were present.
