Kundapur, Aug 16: The service of gram panchayats in managing Covid is valuable. “KDP meetings should be held at gram panchayats regularly. Discussions on the developments of gramas should be held with officials in those meetings,” said minister of social welfare and backward classes, Kota Srinivas Poojary.

He was speaking after inaugurating the newly constructed auditorium, meeting hall and the room for specially abled under 14th finance project at Kota gram panchayat on Monday.

“All the projects will be coming under the gram panchayats in the future and gram panchayats will be important for development works in the future,” he said.

Kota gram panchayat president Ajith Devadiga presided over the programme. Food kits were distributed to construction workers. Labour department officer Kumar spoke. Panchayat vice president Jayanti Poojary was on the dais.

Panchayat development officer Suresh Bangera welcomed. Panchayat member Chandra Poojary compered the programme. Panchayat member Santhosh Prabhu cooperated.
