Mangaluru: Uprooted coconut tree falls on moving bus, severs power cable

Mangaluru, Aug 17: The passengers of a bus had a providential escape after a coconut tree fell on the bus. The tree fell on the power cables passing overhead, and severed the cables. The passengers in the bus were therefore unharmed.

The city bus bearing No 15 was moving near Mallikatta Dwara when the tree fell.

The incident would have resulted in a catastrophe had the power cables fallen on the bus.

Former MLC Ivan D’Souza and former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, visited the spot.
